Morning Routine/Current Beauty Favorites 2

Hello Readers!

Today I wanted to share my morning skincare/makeup routine with you all because I really love all of the products I’m using. Everything in this routine i’ve used for months if not years so you know they’re good. I want to start experimenting a bit more with different makeup and skincare products so before I do I kinda wanted to round up my favorites. So here goes!

Every day when I get out of the shower I apply this Shea Body Butter from The Body Shop all over to really hydrate my skin. These are the perfect consistency and they really lock in moisture without being greasy. These are perfect for winter dryness and they come in a wide variety of scents. This one is my current favorite but I try different ones all the time.

After I cover my body in moisturizer I move onto my face where I’ve been using the Vitamin E Intense Moisture Cream from The Body Shop. I wouldn’t normally consider myself to have dry skin, more of a combination but this moisturizer is perfectly hydrating for me. It’s so rich and creamy and it makes my skin feel soft without a ton of product.

Once my body and face are moisturized, I move onto my lips. I am always trying new chapsticks, especially in the winter time but lately I haven’t been able to put down my Nivea A Kiss of Moisture (I could only find a picture of the smoothness one for some reason). This stuff is incredible. It hydrates and lasts forever and it isn’t the least bit sticky. I really feel like my lips look smoother after applying this as well.

After I’m all hydrated I prime my face with my Benefit The Porefessional balm. If you’ve read my Benefit Calendar review then you know how much I love this. I’ve repurchased this time and time again. It’s magical how quickly your pores disappear when using this.

Next I use my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser– the brightener one. I’ve tried the regular concealer and the brightening formula and both are fantastic. I prefer the regular concealer but the brightening one is perfect in the winter when I have dark circles and my skin is looking more dull than usual. This stuff applies really evenly and is easy to blend with your fingers.

Once I’ve got my concealer on I move on up to my eyes and coat my eyelashes with the They’re Real mascara from Benefit. I am so in love with the brush with its spiky end that allows me to get every teeny tiny lash. I can’t say enough good things about this mascara. If you haven’t tried it yet, you need to.

Next, I use my favorite eyeliner the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in either Demolition or Rockstar depending on my mood. Demolition is a dark matte brown and I love it because it’s not too harsh looking on my fair skin. Rockstar is a dark purple color that really makes my green eyes pop. I apply these in my waterline and really make sure I push up on my lashes to make them appear thicker.

Once my eyes are done I finally get around to my foundation. I choose to do this afterwards because honestly, I’m a little messy with my mascara. I switch between a Sephora brand powder foundation and this Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation (why are all of these names so long?). I love the Tarte foundation and it certainly lasts all day. I prefer powder foundations because they don’t get cakey (on my skin) and this one in particular, has really good coverage.

After my foundation is applied I use my Watt’s Up highlighter by Benefit to make some parts of my face glow. I always apply this right under my brow bone and a small amount just to the tops of my cheek bones. I never though a highlighter would become a part of my daily routine until I used this product. I look glowy without being sparkly or glittery, sweaty looking.

Now that I’m all shimmery I top off my cheeks with the Rockateur blush from Benefit. The rose gold color really looks nice on my fair skin.Although the product looks shimmery, it doesn’t really shine on the skin, that’s why I also use a highlighter on my cheeks. Plus, the packaging has so much product that I’m pretty sure I’ll have this forever. #winning

In addition to blush I always use a bronzer to warm up the area around my hairline. I also apply this in the hollows of my cheeks to make them appear more defined. I use the NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder in Sunny. I’m sure everyone has tried this bronzer because it’s so inexpensive but I really do like it! It’s not muddy and it’s not orangey. Yeah, there are better bronzers out there but no drugstore ones that i’ve liked. What bronzer do you use?

That’s it for all of my morning skincare and makeup but I’m not ready to head out the door just yet. I always spritz on some perfume before going to work. I rotate between an embarrassing number of perfumes (8) so I’m just going to mention this one that’s my favorite at the moment. It’s Viva La Juicy La Fleur. It reallllllly is making me dream of spring so I’ve worn it a ton lately. Now I’m ready to walk out the door!

Do you use any of these products? What’s your morning routine look like? Leave me a comment or link to your morning routine!

Hope you’re having a great day!

♥ Leanna
